Commissioners
The Lady's Island Fire Department is governed by a board of commissioners that represent the citizens of our district. The commission is made up of two members from St. Helena, two members from Lady's Island, and one member at large. These commissioners are volunteers and serve our citizens to provide the best possible fire department at a reasonable cost.

Fire Chief
Fire Chief Bruce Kline has served Beaufort County since 1984. He comes to us from Ogdensburg, New York by way of the United States Marine Corp. He has served as the fire chief of the Lady's Island - St. Helena Fire District since 2005. He is a Past-President of the South Carolina State's Firefighter Association and is a member of the SC State Firefighter Hall of Fame.
Administration
Your fire department is made up of five stations that cover from the Woods and McTeer Bridges to Fripp and all areas and properties along the way. We have three shifts that work a 48 hour shift and then off for 96 hours. We have five stations that are manned with a minimum of three firefighters 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This includes nights, weekends, and holidays. We stand at the ready to serve when called upon.
