Emergency Response
Our fire department is dedicated to providing rapid and effective emergency response to ensure the safety of our community. We have a highly trained and committed firefighters that are we prepared to respond swiftly to fires, emergencies, and hazardous situations. We take pride in our proactive approach, continuously training and preparing for any emergency that may arise. Our team works hard to be the fire department you deserve because we believe that you are worth it.
Community Involvement
This community that we serve and the people that live in it are very important to us. Many of the people serving you grew up here, went to school here, and decided to raise their families here. The Lady's Island - St. Helena Fire District chooses to be involved in this community. When you request our services it could quite possibly your worst day. We would rather that not be the first day we meet. When you are having a bad day, we want you to feel like friends showed up on that fire engine. You will see us at community events, school events, church events, local restaurants, and at the grocery store. Unless we are working an emergency come on up and talk with us. We would love to meet you.
Business Advocacy
It is our responsibility as the authority having jurisdiction to inspect and enforce the fire code adopted by both the local and state governments. It is our belief, especially in our community, people are trying to do the right things, and everyone would want to prevent harm in their business to both employees and customers. We want to help you with this. We want our business owners to view us as partners. If you are changing your occupancy, remodeling, or adding on, please reach out to us and let's go through the process together. We will give all the assistance we can to help you as much as we can. We know the vital role our business play in our community. Your success is important to us all.
Meet Buzz
As a fire department we have the responsibility to determine a cause and origin for all fires. Some of these fires that we investigate are intentionally set. Buzz is an Arson K-9 trained in detecting accelerants. During the day she hangs out at the fire house like a regular dog. However, when it is time to go to work, she is all business. Buzz is food driven, meaning that unless she is training or working, she does not eat. She trains or works for every meal making her very good at her job. If you see her out, please come meet her, she is delightful. Always ask her handler before you approach her. If you stop by the fire house she is normally there and will be the best part of your visit.
